As one who gave up reading War and Peace twice but breezed through it the third time because it was the Pevear/Volokhonsky translation, I am delighted to hear that Turgenev is next in line! Things don't turn out well for her after that. War-and-peace-maude Although Brigg's translation is excellent, I am most familiar with the Maude translation. There are two big issues with this translation, depending on where you're sitting. Pevear and Volokhonsky include all the French, with pages of footnotes.
